Explain why the northern hemisphere receives more solar energy from the sun between june and august than the southern hemisphere
Gelneren [198K]

Answer:

Whichever hemisphere (the Northern or Southern Hemisphere) is tilted toward the sun receives more direct rays of sunlight (or rays that are closer to perpendicular or a 90° angle). Which element would you expect to be more unstable/reactive, neon or calcium? why?
melamori03 [73]

Answer:

Calcium

Explanation:

Between Neon and Calcium, neon will be more stable compared to the calcium.

Neon belongs to the group of elements on the periodic table called the noble gases. These are the most stable elements and they do not react with other elements.

  • Calcium on the other hand is reactive
  • It requires a loss of two electrons to attain stability.
  • Therefore, it is a more reactive element.

Look at the equation for cellular respiration and write in which stage of the process each molecule is either used or produced.
Inga [223]

Answer:

Glucose -Glycolysis

6O2 -  pyruvate oxidation, the citric acid cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation

CO2 - kerbs cycle

Water- electron transport chain.

ATP - glycolysis, pyruvate oxidation & kerb cycle

Explanation:

Glucose (C6H12O6) is used in Glycolysis

6O2 is used in pyruvate oxidation, the citric acid cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation

CO2 is produced in kerbs cycle in which 2 CO2 molecules are produced every single molecule of acetyl CoA

Water is produced in electron transport chain.

ATP is produced in following stages

a. The 6 ATP or 2 NADH molecules from glycolysis

b. The 6 ATP or 2NADH molecules from pyruvate oxidation

c. The 18 ATP or 6 NADH molecules from Krebs’ cycle

d. The 4 ATP or 2 FADH2 molecules from Krebs’ cycle

What does it mean to say that double-stranded nucleic acids are<br> antiparallel?
Elanso [62]

Answer:

DNA is the genetic material of all the living organism except some viruses. The structure and the characteristics of the DNA was well explained by Watson and Crick.

DNA is a double stranded molecule in which nitrogenous bases are linked together. Watson and crick explained that DNA strand are antiparallel. The antiparallel nature of the strand means one DNA gas a polarity of 5' to 3' direction whereas the another strand of the DNA gas polarity of 3' to 5' direction. These two strands has opposite polarity and runs in anti parallel directions. Thus, the DNA strand known as antiparallel strands.
