Which characteristics are common to the three isotopes of hydrogen?
allsm [11]
D should be the correct answer.  isotopes are atoms that have the same atomic number (number of protons) but different atomic masses (number of protons and neutrons).  isotopes also have the same number of electrons since atoms need to have equal numbers of protons and electrons to not be considered ions.  Since the number of protons determines the chemical properties of the atom, we can say that all isotopes have the same chemical properties due to the fact that all isotopes have the same atomic number.

I hope this helps.  Let me know in the comments if anything is unclear.

What volume does 4.24g of argon gas occupy at 58.2 degrees celcuis and 1528torr
Radda [10]

The volume occupied by the argon gas is, 1.44 L

Explanation :

To calculate the volume of argon gas we are using ideal gas equation:

PV=nRT\\\\PV=\frac{w}{M}RT

where,

P = pressure of argon gas = 1528 torr = 2.010 atm

Conversion used : (1 atm = 760 torr)

V = volume of argon gas = ?

T = temperature of argon gas = 58.2^oC=273+58.2=331.2K

R = gas constant = 0.0821 L.atm/mole.K

w = mass of argon gas = 4.24 g

M = molar mass of argon gas = 39.95 g/mole

Now put all the given values in the ideal gas equation, we get:

(2.010atm)\times V=\frac{4.24g}{39.95g/mole}\times (0.0821L.atm/mole.K)\times (331.2K)

V=\frac{4.24g}{39.95g/mole}\times \frac{(0.0821L.atm/mole.K)\times (331.2K)}{2.010atm}

V=1.44L

Therefore, the volume of occupied by argon gas is 1.44 L

Describe how plants might be affected if the inter molecular forces in water decreased? i need asap!
vovangra [49]

Answer:

Water has polar O-H bonds. The negative O atoms attract the positive H atoms in nearby molecules, leading to the unusually strong type of dipole-dipole force called a hydrogen bond. Since water has hydrogen bonds, it also has dipole-induced dipole and London dispersion forces.

Hope it helped!!
