Answer:

The answer is 1

Explanation:

In the core of the Sun hydrogen is being converted into helium. This is called nuclear fusion. It takes four hydrogen atoms to fuse into each helium atom. During the process some of the mass is converted into energy.

Three kilograms of steam is contained in a horizontal, frictionless piston and the cylinder is heated at a constant pressure of
lakkis [162]

Answer:

Final temperature: 659.8ºC

Expansion work: 3*75=225 kJ

Internal energy change: 275 kJ

Explanation:

First, considering both initial and final states, write the energy balance:

U_{2}-U_{1}=Q-W

Q is the only variable known. To determine the work, it is possible to consider the reversible process; the work done on a expansion reversible process may be calculated as:

dw=Pdv

The pressure is constant, so:  w=P(v_{2}-v_{1} )=0.5*100*1.5=75\frac{kJ}{kg} (There is a multiplication by 100 due to the conversion of bar to kPa)

So, the internal energy change may be calculated from the energy balance (don't forget to multiply by the mass):

U_{2}-U_{1}=500-(3*75)=275kJ

On the other hand, due to the low pressure the ideal gas law may be appropriate. The ideal gas law is written for both states:

P_{1}V_{1}=nRT_{1}

P_{2}V_{2}=nRT_{2}\\V_{2}=2.5V_{1}\\P_{2}=P_{1}\\2.5P_{1}V_{1}=nRT_{2}

Subtracting the first from the second:

1.5P_{1}V_{1}=nR(T_{2}-T_{1})

Isolating T_{2}:

T_{2}=T_{1}+\frac{1.5P_{1}V_{1}}{nR}

Assuming that it is water steam, n=0.1666 kmol

V_{1}=\frac{nRT_{1}}{P_{1}}=\frac{8.314*0.1666*373.15}{500} =1.034m^{3}

T_{2}=100+\frac{1.5*500*1.034}{0.1666*8.314}=659.76 ºC

Although Rutherford is credited with the famous gold foil scattering experiment, he didn’t actually conduct this experiment hims
Dmitrij [34]
Although he did not do the experiment himself, he had come up with the idea of what to do and how to do it. I think that only Rutherford receiving credit is okay as the assistants did not do anything to contribute to the actual idea of the experiment.
For example, we credit the invention of the iPhone to Steve Jobs, the engineers of Apple, the designers, etc. - those with actual contributions to the invention and the ideas and not the Chinese factory workers - those who construct the iPhone itself.

What geologic processes are happening in the Lassen Volcanic National Park? Is it still being built up or taken away?
JulsSmile [24]

In May 1915, Lassen Peak, California, the southernmost active volcano in the Cascade Range, erupted explosively. Avalanches, mudflows, and flows of hot ash and gas devastated nearby areas, and volcanic ash fell as far away as 200 miles to the east. The Lassen area remains volcanically active, and the volcano hazards demonstrated in 1915 still can threaten not only nearby areas but also more distant communities. Recent work by scientists with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the National Park Service is shedding new light on these hazards.

hope this helps!

Selah is making a mobile of an atom of beryllium to hang from the ceiling in her science class. She uses a clear plastic bag for
mel-nik [20]

Answer:

See explanation

Explanation:

The question is incomplete because the images of the models are absent. However, i will try to give you a general description of what the correct answer should be.

Beryllium is a member of group 2 in the periodic table. Beryllium has an atomic number of 4. This implies that it has four protons in its nucleus and four electrons in its shells. In a neutral atom, the number of electrons on the shells is equal to the number of protons in the nucleus.

The electronic configuration of Beryllium is 1s2 2s2. This implies that it should have two shells each containing only two electrons each.

Since we are using white foam balls for protons and black foam balls for neutrons, the clear plastic will contain four white foam balls and five  black foam balls since the mass number of beryllium is 9 and number of neutrons = mass number - number of protons.

Four blue foam balls hanging from strings will represent the electrons around the nucleus.

Any model that corresponds to the description above is the correct answer.
