Determine whether the selection process for each sample was random or nonrandom.
stepladder [879]

The selection process for each sample was Random, Hence, Random sampling

This is further explained below.

Determine whether the selection process for each sample was random or nonrandom.?

Generally, During physical education classes, students are randomly assigned to teams by selecting names from a hat or bag containing their names on individual pieces of paper.

There is a designated area at a supermarket for shoppers to leave comments. Each week, a satisfied customer will be randomly selected from the feedback forms submitted to win a gift certificate.

Selection bias

For a research project, physicians must first compile a list of patients. The first ten people on the list will be placed in the placebo group.

A clothes retailer conducts surveys of clients who use its store credit card to better understand its clientele.

We collect five soil samples from the biggest farm in a given area to determine the quality of the soil there.

The distinction between random and non-random sampling is explained.

In random sampling, each sample has the same chance of getting the target variable. When a researcher uses a sampling strategy that is not random, the features of the sample chosen are not based on chance but on factors like their own convenience, their own professional judgment, and their own prior experience.

The length of a rectangle is 3.9 cm more than 3 times the width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 32.6 cm, what are its dime
Ksenya-84 [330]
So length is 3.9 cm more than 3 times the width
perimeter is 32.6 cm
l = 3w + 3.9

P = l + l + w + w
32.6 = 3w + 3.9 + 3w+ 3.9 + w + w
combine like terms
32.6 = 7.8 + 8w
subtract 7.8 from both sides
24.8 = 8w
divide both sides by 8 to isolate w
3.1 = w

so we solved that the width is 3.1 cm
to find the length
l = 3.9 + (3*3.1)
l = 3.9 + 9.3
l = 13.2

The dimensions:
Length is 13.2 cm
Width is 3.1 cm

Hope this helps :)

The ages of people entering a pie eating contest are normally distributed with a mean of 35 years and a standard deviation of 8.
ELEN [110]

Answer:

The ages of people entering a pie eating contest are normally distributed with a mean of 35 years and a standard deviation of 8.2 years.

What is the age of a pie eating contestant with a z-score of −2.1 ?

[ Age - 35 ] / [ 8.2]  =  -2.1     multiply both sides by 8.2

Age - 35   =  -17.22       add 35 to both sides

Age  ≈ 17.8  years

The least square estimated regression equtyol obtained using a linear regression calculator is :

y = -0.43841X + 9.34565

Yes, from the correlation Coefficient value, R which yields - 0.8444, shows they a strong linear relationship exists between the two variables.

The obtained regression equation is appropriate
