You have 1.2 x 10^25 particles of NiCO3. How many grams are present?

Chemistry
1 answer:
Drupady [299]3 years ago
6 0

Answer:

2365.0 g

Explanation:

First we <u>convert 1.2 x 10²⁵ particles into moles</u>, using <em>Avogadro's number</em>:

  • 1.2 x 10²⁵ particles ÷ 6.023x10²³ particles/mol = 19.9 mol

Then we <u>convert 19.9 moles of NiCO₃ into grams</u>, using the <em>molar mass of NiCO₃</em>:

  • NiCO₃ Molar Mass = 118.702 g/mol
  • 19.9 mol * 118.702 g/mol = 2365.0 g

Can swords shatter from cold temperatures
sp2606 [1]
Depends on how the sword is made, what materials are used and temperature used but yes they can shatter.

When molecules cool down they stop vibrating and moving as much and so they "shrink" and the metal of the sword becomes brittle. sometimes they shrink at different phases which cause tension in the sword if this tension is strong enough it can cause the metallic bonds to break causing the sword to shatter.

hope that helps

Answer each of the following questions with increases, decreases, or does not change.
Nitella [24]

Answer:

a) increases

b) decreases

c) does not change

d) increases

Explanation:

The vapour pressure of a liquid is dependent on;

I) the magnitude of intermolecular forces

II) the temperature of the liquid

Hence, when any of these increases, the vapour pressure increases likewise.

Similarly, the boiling point of a liquid depends on the magnitude of intermolecular forces present because as intermolecular forces increases, more energy is required to break intermolecular bonds.

Lastly, increase in surface area of a liquid does not really affect it's vapour pressure.

How many moles are in 2.5L of 1.75 M Na2CO3
mixas84 [53]

Answer: There are 4.375 moles in 2.5 L of 1.75 M Na_2CO_3

Explanation:

To calculate the number of moles for given molarity, we use the equation:

\text{Molarity of the solution}=\frac{\text{Moles of solute}}{\text{Volume of solution (in L)}}

Molarity of solution = 1.75 M

Volume of solution = 2.5 L

Putting values in equation , we get:

1.75M=\frac{\text{Moles of} Na_2CO_3}{2.5L}\\\\\text{Moles of }Na_2CO_3=1.75mol/L\times 2.5L=4.375mol
