4 0

Answer:

y <  -  \frac{3}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Simplify -6+7 to 1.

- 4y - 5 > 1

2. Add 5 to both sides.

- 4y > 1 + 5

3. Simplify 1+5 to 6.

- 4y > 6

4. Divide both sides by -4.

y <  -  \frac{6}{4}

5. Simplify 6/4 to 3/2.

y <  -  \frac{3}{2}

Therefor, the Answer is,

y <  -  \frac{3}{2}

The vertices of a triangle are A(2,5), B(1, 2), and C(3, 1). Find the coordinates of the image after a dilation with respect
Dmitry_Shevchenko [17]

The coordinates of the image after a dilation with respect to the origin is A'' (2,10), B" (0,4), C" (4,2) .

<h3>How does dilation work?</h3>

Dilation of a figure will leave its sides get scaled (multiplied) by same number. That number is called the scale factor of that dilation.

Its also called scaling of a figure, but due to the involvement of coordinates, it involves a center of a dilation, which is like a pinned point that stays at the same place after dilation.

Its like we enlarge or shorten the size of the figure (or keep it same, when scale factor = 1).

The vertices of a triangle are A(2,5), B(1, 2), and C(3, 1).

A' = 2(2.5) = (4,10)

B' = 2(1,2) = (2,4)

C' = 2(3,1) = (6,2)

Translation of 2 units left means change in x

A'' = (4-2,10) = (2,10)

B" = (2-2,4) = (0,4)

C" = (6-2,2) = (4,2)

Translation of 1 units up means change in y

Solve the rational equation (3x^2+1)/(x-1) + x =4 + 4/(x-1)
natita [175]

Answer:

The answer to your question is letter D

Step-by-step explanation:

Rational equation

                               \frac{3x^{2} + 1}{x - 1} + x = 4 + \frac{4}{x - 1}

Simplify

                             \frac{3x^{2} + 1 + x(x - 1)}{x - 1} = \frac{4(x - 1) + 4}{x - 1}

Cancel the denominators and expand

                            3x² + 1 + x² - x = 4x - 4 + 4

Simplify

                            4x² - x + 1 - 4x = 0

                            4x² - 5x + 1 = 0

Factor

                            4x² - 4x - 1x + 1 = 0

                            4x(x - 1) - 1(x - 1) = 0

                             (4x - 1)(x - 1) = 0

                            x₁ = 1/4        x₂ = 1

Find the slope of the line that contains the points (-9, -3) and (-19, -3).
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

Slope (m) = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

We will use this formula to find the slope⤵⤵⤵

\frac{y _{2} - y _{1}  }{x _{2} - x _{1}  }

(Sorry if it's a bit small btw)

Now we plug in the values accordingly:

-3 - (-3) = -3 + 3 = 0

-19 - (-9) = -19 + 9 = -10

Slope = 0/-10

So we have 0/-10, which means our slope is actually just 0.

(This also means that the line on the graph will be horizontal.)

Hope this helps you :)

Can anyone explain how to do this? I looked at the book and now I'm even more confused. 50 points
katrin [286]

The piecewise function is basically the result of two different functions combined together. If x is 0 or larger, then h(x) = x+4. Otherwise, if x < 0, then h(x) = -x-4

No matter what number you pick for x, the h(x) function will be used in some way. So the domain is the set of all real numbers. To write this in interval notation, we write (-\infty, \infty) which means we start off at negative infinity and go to positive infinity. This is basically saying "the entire real number line". Since we can't actually reach either infinity, we always use parenthesis with them. <u>Never</u> use square brackets with either infinity

From the graph (see attached image below), we see that (0,-4) is the lowest point. This means y = -4 is the smallest y output possible, though we can't actually reach it because of the open circle at (0,-4). We can get any other larger y value. So the range is therefore: (-4, \infty) meaning we start at -4 and head off to positive infinity. The curve parenthesis next to -4 the reader "exclude -4 as part of the range". There is an open hole or gap here. Another way to state the range is to write y > -4
