For which electrode could you use an inactive material
kow [346]

Mercury and carbon two electrodes can't be used with an inactive or inert material.

What is an electrode?

The electrode is the element which is used to complete the electric circuit in welding. Some time electrode is connected with the positive terminal and sometimes with a negative terminal, it depends on the requirement of the welding process.

Inert electrode is an electrode that serves only as a source or sink for electrons without playing a chemical role in the electrode reaction. Precious metals, mercury, and carbon are typically used as inert electrodes.

Therefore, neither of the two electrodes can be used with an inactive or inert material.

Which statement explains how the bands in the crystal of a metal are like atomic orbitals?
algol [13]
Please provide the choices here.

The similarity of the bands in the crystal of a metal to the atomic orbitals can be explained by the band theory of metals. In an atom, when the electrons get excited, the electrons jumps to a higher orbital so as to reach equilibrium. This is analogous to the electrons in the metals which also jumps to another band once excited by an external energy (e.g. electrical energy).

For a specific enzyme/substrate system, which condition will always result in an increase in Vo (assuming nothing else changes)?
inessss [21]
a decrease in Km and an increase in Vmax
km is the constant that relates how thick the volume of the substrate in terms of concentration when the speed is a large portion of the most extreme. They increment Km by meddling with the joining process that makes them stick together wit the substrate, however they have any effect with regards to Vmax since since the sticking process to ES did not occur
