1. The main idea of this passage is about producers and consumers and how they get their food/survive.

2. The difference between producers and consumers is that producers can create their own food through photosynthesis but consumers can't so they eat other organisms to survive. (look at paragraph 2 about producer and paragraph 3 for consumers.

3. Consumers need producers because they generate and release oxygen which is critical for survival it says so in paragraph 4.
