Answer:

-2x+8

Step-by-step explanation:

Hey there!

we can write the equation (-x+3)-(x-5) as 1(-x+3)-1(x-5)

= 1(-x+3)-1(x-5)

then we use the distributive property

=1(-x+3)-1(x-5)

= -1x+3-1x+5

then we get the x numbers to one side and the numbers without x to one side.

= -1x-1x+5+3

then we add them( for adding -1x-1x we use the rules for adding numbers negative number then there are two negative like -1x-1x we add them when you add them when the answer comes the answer will be negative )

= -2x-+8 is the farthest we can simplify.

pantera1 [17]

Answer:

The slope of line k is - 4 .

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope of given line p is 1/4

Let the slope of line k which is perpendicular to is m.

When the two line are perpendicular to each other, the product of the slopes  is always negative 1.

So, the slope of line k is given by

m=- \frac{1}{\frac{1}{4}}\\\\m = - 4
