Answer:

Explanation:

So chemical changes require a change on a molecular level that cannot be reversed because they form some new substance. Souring milk is not something you can reverse, and the process of it souring produces new molecules.

A chemist has been given a mixture of two liquids that form a solution. The liquids have different boiling points, densities, an
marin [14]

A. Distillation. If the mixtures have different boiling points, the liquid with the lower boiling point will distill off first, followed by the other one.

“B. Filtration” is <em>incorrect</em>. Both liquids will pass through the filter paper.

“C. Sedimentation” is <em>incorrect </em>because it works only for a solid suspended in a liquid.

“D. Evaporation” is <em>incorrect</em>. Both liquids will pass into the atmosphere never to be seen again.

A 100. g iron rod is heated to an unknown initial temperature. While cooling down to a temperature of 25.0 degree C, the rod rel
AfilCa [17]

Answer: a)  38.3^0C

Explanation:

As we know that,

q=m\times c\times \Delta T=m\times c\times (T_{final}-T_{initial})

where,

q = heat released  = -600.2 J

m = mass of iron rod =100 g

T_{final} = final temperature =25.^0C

T_{initial} = initial temperature = ?

c = specific heat of iron = 0.452J/g^0C

Now put all the given values in equation, we get

-600.2J=100\times 0.452J/g^0C\times (25.0-T_{initial})^0C]

T_{initial}=38.3^0C

Therefore, the initial temperature of iron rod was 38.3^0C

What molarity is made when 36.5 g HCl is mixed into 250 mL of solution?
Dominik [7]

Answer:

The molarity of the HCl solution is 4M.

Explanation:

Molarity=\frac{number\:of\:moles}{Volume\:of\:solution\:in\:L}\\ \\The\:volume\:of\:solution=250mL=0.25L\\\\Number\:of\:moles=\frac{weight\:of\:HCl\:in\:solution}{molecular\:weight\:of\:HCl}\\ \\Molecular\:weight\:of\:HCl=36.5g\\\\The\:weight\:of\:HCl\:in\:solution=36.5g\\\\Number\:of\:moles\:of\:HCl=\frac{36.5}{36.5}=1\:mole\\\\The\:molarity\:of\:HCl\:solution=\frac{1}{0.25}=4M

Hence, the molarity of the HCl solution = 4 M

Which of the following would not be a clear indication of a chemical change
Alekssandra [29.7K]

I believe the answer is "After adding two substances together a new order is detected" because nearly all of the other answers suggest a chemical change has taken place. The reason I say "almost" is because answer two and four results in bubbles forming so the answer cannot be both. The only one to not clearly show a chemical change has occurred is the last answer.
