The Doppler Effect talks about the frequency of sound and light as the source and person move. So, <em>When light waves are emitted by a moving source, scientists can measure</em> = the Doppler effect.

Cosmic microwave background radiation has the word "cosmic" in it, so you can assume it has to do with space automatically. There is radiation in space too, so I'm pretty sure that <em>The extremely low temperature of outer space can be explained as </em>= cosmic microwave background radiation.

Particle accelerators are these big machines that usually smash protons/electrons together, so <em>Scientists smash together tiny bits of matter using </em>= particle accelerators.

And now, by process of elimination and because the Big Bang Theory talks about the creation of Earth, we know that <em>Scientists extrapolate backwards in time to derive</em> = the Big Bang Theory.

How can the presence of one species benefit another in the same ecosystem
tekilochka [14]

Answer:

The different species present in an ecosystem make the ecosystem balanced.  The species of an ecosystem interact with one another in one form or the other. For example, the presence of a plant species will provide food for the abundant types of herbivores present in an ecosystem. A predator might feed on many types of preys. Hence, the presence of different preys will reduce the chances of a species from becoming wiped out from the ecosystem. Hence, all the organisms in an ecosystem are dependent on another in some way or the other.

If acetyl-CoA is labeled with 14C at its methyl group, how many rounds of the cycle are required before 14CO2 is released?
Elis [28]

Answer:

14 CO₂ will be released in the second turn of the cycle

Explanation:

<u>Complete question goes like this</u>, "<em>The CO2 produced in one round of the citric acid cycle does not originate in the acetyl carbons that entered that round. If acetyl-CoA is labeled with 14C at the carbonyl carbon, how many rounds of the cycle are required before 14CO2 is released?</em>"

<u>The answer to this is</u>;

  • The labeled Acetyl of Acetyl-CoA becomes the terminal carbon (C4) of succinyl-CoA (which becomes succinate that is a symmetrical four carbon diprotic dicarboxylic acid from alpha-ketoglutarate).
  • Succinate converts into fumarate. Fumarate converts into malate, and malate converts into oxaloacetate. Because succinate is symmetrical, the oxaloacetate can have the label at C1 or C4.
  • When these condense with acetyl-CoA to begin the second round of the cycle, both of these carbons are discharged as CO2 during the isocitrate dehydrogenase and alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase reactions (formation of alpha-ketoglutarate and succinyl-CoA respectively).

Hence, 14 CO₂ will be released in the second turn of the cycle.
