When you reflect over the y-axis, sign of the ___-coordinate changes.
KATRIN_1 [288]

Answer:

When we reflect over the y-axis, sign of the x-coordinate changes.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we know when we'll reflect over y-axis, y-axis will work as a mirror. Y-coordinates will remain same but the only change that happens to any point on the graph is x coordinates.

In second quadrant x-coordinates are negative and in first quadrant positive, while y coordinates are positive in both first and second quadrant. So if we will reflect from first to second or second to first quadrant y-coordinates will remain same but x-coordinates will change..

In third quadrant x-coordinates are negative and in fourth positive, while y coordinates are negative in both third and fourth quadrant. So if we will reflect from third to fourth or fourth to third quadrant y-coordinates will remain same but x-coordinates will change.

Therefore, from above explanation we can conclude that when we reflect over the y-axis, sign of the x-coordinate changes.

Sara has 7/21 yard of ribbon. What is the maximum number of 1/3 yard-long pieces Marilyn can cut from this ribbon?
Darya [45]

Answer:

1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given parameters:

Length of ribbon  = \frac{7}{21}yards

Unknown:

Maximum number of \frac{1}{3}yards that can be cut = ?

Solution:

Maximum number of length that can be cut;

         = \frac{Total length}{maximum number of length}

Maximum number of length = \frac{\frac{7}{21} }{\frac{1}{3} }

Maximum number of length = \frac{7}{21} x \frac{3}{1}   = 1

The maximum number of  \frac{1}{3}yards that can be cut is 1

The triangle below is equilateral. Find the length of side x in simplest radical form with a rational denominator.
VMariaS [17]

Answer:

x = 8

Step-by-step explanation:

If a triangle is equilateral, each vertex has an angle that is equal to 60 degrees

As we can see, we have two sets of similar right triangles

The value x faces the right angle and that makes it the hypotenuse

Also, the side measure 4 is the adjacent side to the angle 60

The trigonometric identity that relates the hypotenuse and the adjacent is the cosine

it is the ratio of the adjacent to the hypotenuse

Mathematically;

cos 60 = 4/x

x = 4/cos 60

x = 8

What is 11.25 as a fraction?
s2008m [1.1K]
11.25 is 11 1/4 because if you were to do 1 divided by 4, you would find that the answer is 0.25. But if you need an improper fraction, you would get 45/4 because if you were to put 11 times 4, you would get 44, and 44+1=45. Then you put that on the numerator spot, and you will get 45/4 for improper fraction.
