Notice how points T and Z are vertically aligned, or vertically lined up. This is where the graph fails the vertical line test.

The input x = 2 leads to the outputs y = 3 and y = 5 (which are the y coordinates of points Z and T in that order).

A function is only possible when any given input leads to <u>exactly one</u> output only. It would be like saying "the conversion function from Celsius to Fahrenheit has 0 degrees C convert to both 32 degrees F and 50 degrees F at the same time". But such a statement makes no sense and it's not useful. So this is one example of why having one output makes sense for a function.

In short, we need one output for any given input. But the input x = 2 leads to more than one output. That's why we don't have a function.

What is the y-intercept of this quadratic function?<br> f(x)=-x2+10x-22
IrinaK [193]

Answer:

The y intercept is (0,-22)

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the y intercept, set x =0 and solve for y

f(0)=-0^2+10*0-22

    = -22

HELP! WILL MAKE BRAINLEST What is the equation of this line? y=2x−3 y=−1/2x−3 y=−2x−3 y=1/2x−3
Luden [163]

The answer is y = 2x - 3. Because you'll first start a point -3. Now 2x would change and add an invisible on making it 2/1. Then from point -3. You'll rise up 2 units and run 1 unit to the right. Showing exactly in the graph.

Compute each of the following, simplifying the result into a +bi form. I look at the answer in my book it is this. But How they
OleMash [197]

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

We have , to simplify a complex expression . Basically a complex expression in the form a + ib , where i = \sqrt{-1} and is called iota.

Expression:

(2+2i)^{8}

⇒ (2+2i)^{8}

⇒2^{8}(1+i)^{8}

We know that the mod or modulus of a complex number in the form of a+ib is represented by Z and Z = \sqrt{a^{2}+b^{2}} . Computing mod of 1+i as :

⇒ Z = \sqrt{a^{2}+b^{2}}

⇒ Z = \sqrt{1^{2}+1^{2}}

⇒ Z = \sqrt{2}

Putting value of 1+i as Z = \sqrt{2} , we get:

⇒2^{8}(1+i)^{8}

⇒2^{8}(\sqrt{2})^{8}

⇒256(2^{4})

⇒4096
