If crossing over did not occur during meiosis, there would be less genetic variation within a species.

Breeding programs and habitat preserves have been established as an effort to protect the florida panther from extinction. studi
Inessa05 [86]
The answer is ‘panthers will become extinct due to the lack of genetic diversity’. The population will enter what is referred to an extinction vortex. This is when environmental, demographic and genetic factors interact and reinforce each other in a downward spiral of a species. The lack of genetic diversity in the population causes inbreeding and lack of diversity on which natural selection can act upon for the population to adapt.

You are working as a botanist in a tropical forest and have located a small plant that has never before been seen or classified.
vichka [17]

Answer: Pteridophyte

You classify the plant as a pteridophyte

Explanation:

Pteridophytes are known to have the following:

- many cells (multicellular) and vascular bundles

- true roots, stems, and leaves

- do not produce flower throughout their lifespan

- they are mainly terrestrial plants, while few are aquatic

- do not produce seeds but reproduce asexually by formation of spores

Examples are ferns

Changing one base in a gene could have the
saw5 [17]

answer: 2) sequence of building blocks of a protein found in a cell.

Just random FYI:

- it is a mutation, that is generally not looked upon as being severe or detrimental to the person

-by changing the base by either adding or deleting from a protein strand will cause the protein to be useless

-frameshift mutation deals with DNA sequence being shifted. For example: a DNA strand looks like a ladder. If one of the rungs on the ladders gets skipped and the next ladder rung gets the code that the previous rung should have gotten, then that is what a frameshift mutation is. Hopefully that makes sense. It's easier to explain if there was a picture.

there are other types of mutation but I won't get into them.

Hopefully this helped and good luck.

Suppose you take glycine tRNA and modify it so that the glycine is changed to valine. You then find that the amino acid sequence
shusha [124]

Answer:

Suppose you take glycine tRNA and modify it so that the glycine is changed to valine. You then find that the amino acid sequence in the generated proteins does not show the expected change. This result would suggest that the protein synthesis machinery recognizes the tRNA anticodon and is congruent with what was actually found by researchers.

Explanation:

A group of researchers led by Seymour Benzer demonstrated that the anticodon of the charged tRNA was recognized by the protein synthesis machinery, when they changed the amino acid sequence. This example shows the exact result as found by the researchers.
