A dog has a 25 ft leash attached to a corner where a garage and fence meet. When the dog pulls the leash tight and walks from th
dalvyx [7]

Answer: 170^{\circ}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

The dog has a 25 ft leash

Arc length is 74.3 ft

Arc length is given by

l=\dfrac{\theta }{360^{\circ}}\times 2\pi r

here, r=25 ft

l=74.3 ft

Put the values

\Rightarrow 74.3=\dfrac{\theta }{360^{\circ}}\times 2\pi \times 25\\\\\Rightarrow \theta =170.2^{\circ} \approx 170^{\circ}

The measure of the angle is  170^{\circ}

Fill in the missing numbers to create equivalent ratios.
jasenka [17]

Step-by-step explanation:

The way to find missing numbers in equivalent ratios is to multiply the means (the first denominator and the second numerator) and multiply the extremes (the first numerator and the second denominator). It sounds really complicated, but it is quite simple =)

2/5 = x/10

The means in this equivalent ration are 5 and x. The extremes are 2 and 10.

5x = 20

Now solve =)

x = 4

That was pretty simple. Let's move on to the next one. Do exactly the same thing here:

4/10 = 6/x

60 = 4x

15 = x

That was pretty simple, too! Keep going!

6/15 = x/25

15x = 150

x = 10

All of these should be equal, so check them by dividing:

2/5 = 0.4

4/10 = 0.4

6/15 = 0.4

10/25 = 0.4

They all check out, so these are your answers: 2/5, 4/10, 6/15, 10/25

I really hope this helps you =)

Answer:

Two different transformations happen. Rotation/Reflection and translation (I say rotation/reflection because they can both put the parabola where it is after being transformed)

(Rotation- 180 degrees)

(Reflection across its it's starting point)

Translation- pushed up 4 points from negative 4 to 0 on the y-axis

When you put the parent function into a graph it is positive so the u is opening upward and starts at -4. Both sides of the u go through the points (0,0)and (4,0).

But in the transformed function is negative so the u opens downward. The sides going through the points (0,-4) and (4,-4)

I hope this makes sense

Can anyone explain to me how to solve for this?
il63 [147K]

Answer:

x = 11

Step-by-step explanation:

The angle formed by two secants is half the difference of the intercepted arc angles.

m∠D = ½ (mBS − mCE)

60 = ½ (173 − (5x − 2))

120 = 173 − 5x + 2

5x = 55

x = 11
