Answer:

The rate at which the distance between the two cars is increasing is 30 mi/h

Step-by-step explanation:

Given;

speed of the first car, v₁ = 24 mi/h

speed of the second car, v₂ = 18 mi/h

Two hours later, the position of the cars is calculated as;

position of the first car, d₁ = 24 mi/h  x 2 h  = 48 mi

position of the second car, d₂ = 18 mi/h  x 2 h = 36 mi

The displacement of the two car is calculated as;

displacement, d² = 48² + 36²

                        d² = 3600

                        d = √3600

                        d = 60 mi

The rate at which this displacement is changing = (60 mi) / (2h)

                                                                                 = 30 mi/h

tresset_1 [31]
Hi!

(l = Lenny
m = Max)

Lenny is 3 times as old as Max.
3m = l

When you subtract Max's age from Lenny's age, you get 24.
L - m = 24

Put in the value of l.
3m - m = 24
There is our equation.

Now solve

2m = 24
2m/2 = 24/2
m = 12

3 * 12 = l
36 = l

The equation is 3m - m = 24
Max is 12 and Lenny is 36.

Hope this helps! :)

We know that
the equation of the parabola is of the form
y=ax²+bx+c
in this problem
y=1/4x²−x+3
where
a=1/4
b=-1
c=3
 the coordinates of the focus are
(-b/2a,(1-D)/4a)
where D is the discriminant b²-4ac
D=(-1)²-4*(1/4)*3-----> D=1-3---> D=-2
therefore
x coordinate of the focus
-b/2a----> 1/[2*(-1/4)]----> 2

y coordinate of the focus
(1-D)/4a------> (1+2)/(4/4)---> 3

the coordinates of the focus are (2,3)

A quadrilateral has three angles that measure 80°, 110°, and 75°. Which is the measure of the fourth angle? A. 50° B. 90° C. 95°
Free_Kalibri [48]

a quadrilateral has 4 angles that add up to 360 degrees

x + 80+110+ 75 = 360

combine like  terms

x + 265 = 360

subtract 265 from each side

x + 265 -265 =360 -265

x = 95
