"Replication forks from the same origin of replication extend __________. __________ DNA strand is used as template for the lead
cluponka [151]

Answer:

Explanation:

Replication forks from the same origin of replication extend from the beginning of the strand to the end where the enzyme helicase helps to move the replication fork unwinding DNA double helix structure by breaking the hydrogen bonds between the Nitrogenous bases.

DNA strand is used as template for the leading strand at one fork and for the lagging strand at the second fork. New DNA is synthesized from 5' to 3' on the leading strand.

The strand is made continuously forward in the direction of the replication fork while the other strand is made in 3' to 5' direction and been referred to as ozazaki fragments.

Chloroplasts and mitochondria are both are unusual in that they have double membranes and contain their own set of dna. can you
kolbaska11 [484]
This observation can be explained by the theory of endosymbiosis. From what scientists have discovered, it can be explained that the double membrane of both chloroplast and mitochondria are as a result of them been subjected to phagocytosis but they were not digested. Their DNA suggest that they were once free living prokaryotes. This agree with the endosymbiosis theory which states that eukaryotic cell organelles developed from prokaryotic cells.
