Meeting the needs for a growing population, especially if the population is growing rapidly, is difficult because: you can run out of resources more quickly, you can struggle with scarcity, the scarcity can cause serious conflict and will eventually cause mass starvation. Diseases and viruses can begin to be created and spread more often. Also, more people means more pollution, and more of a negative effect on our environment, which makes it more difficult for any living being to survive when the effect on our environment gets too bad.
