In guinea pigs, the allele for short hair is dominant to long hair. A guinea pig with short hair is crossed to one that has long

hair. Over a period of years, a scientist keeps records of the offspring and finds that 44 of them have short hair and 46 of them have long hair. Based on this data, what are the genotypes of the parents:
1. HH x hh
2. Hh x hh
3. HH x Hh

I would choose Option 2

about 50% chance that the dominance is in, but when it is, its dominant, of course.

no other Option can give you a 50% chance

in 1 its always there, in 3 as well, in 4 never

Damm [24]

Answer:

This exercise is incomplete. The response options are as follows:

a) e+ ca+

b) e ca

c) e ca+

d) e+ ca

The answer is c) e ca+ and d) e+ ca

Explanation:

The Punnett square is a diagram used by biologists to calculate the probability that an individual has a particular genotype. In the Punnett square, each of the possible combinations for the expression of the dominant and recessive alleles can be observed. In the case of exercise, since a crossing is not possible in men, these will only help later during the combination of the alleles.
