Answer:

A. two shark populations utilize the same fish population as their main food source

I'm guessing this is from Marine Biology. I know this is an example of competition because two different groups of sharks are eating food from the same source. If one group gets to it first every time, they could leave the other group with no food. So it is a competition.

Stimuli alter the activity of excitable sensory cells and generate action potentials via _____.
vlada-n [284]
TRANSDUCTION. This refers to the stimulus being converted into an action potential which is then transmitted in the axons going to the central nervous system. This usually starts at the receptor cell. The stimulus change the electrical potential across the cell membrane. This will result in depolarization of the membrane which allow the action potential to be transmitted towards the brain where the electrical impulse is integrated. This usually happens in sensory cells in the body such as vestibular apparatus, olfactory cells, the retina and even the nerve endings alls over our body.

What are the effects of tobacco smoke on the gas exchange system?
grigory [225]
Over time, the toxins from inhaled cigarette smoke break the thin walls of alveoli, leaving larger, less efficient air sacs. The sacs also begin to lose their bounce, making it harder to bring in the oxygen and expel carbon dioxide. 3 Both can become partially trapped in the lungs.
