Answer:

it's c , x= 1.5 or -4

2x^2 + 5x - 12 = 0

First factor the left side of the equation

(2x-3)(x+4)=0

Second, set the factors equal to 0

2x-3=0 or x+4=0

 +3  +3       -4  -4

2x=3           -4

divide both side by 2 and you get 3/2 which equals 1.5

x=1.5 or x= -4

What is 6.23 million written in scientific notation?
taurus [48]

Answer:

6.23*10^6

Step-by-step explanation:

We first write the answer in full notation 6,230,000.

Then we count how many decimal places it takes before we have one leading digit. Since it is six, we move the decimal place and write 6.23*10^6

What is the equation in the slope intercept form of the line that passes through the point (2,-2) and is perpendicular to the li
Igoryamba

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope is 2/5 and the slope of the new line will be -5/2 because the negative reciprocal creates a perpendicular line. Use the point-slope form to write the equation, then simplify and convert into the slope intercept form.

(y--2)=-5/2(x-2)

y+2=-5/2x+10/2

y=-5/2x+5-2

y= -5/2x+3

In how many distinct ways can the letters of the word mathematics be arranged? (first, does the order matter?)
TEA [102]
Our current list has 11!/2!11!/2! arrangements which we must divide into equivalence classes just as before, only this time the classes contain arrangements where only the two As are arranged, following this logic requires us to divide by arrangement of the 2 As giving (11!/2!)/2!=11!/(2!2)(11!/2!)/2!=11!/(2!2).

Repeating the process one last time for equivalence classes for arrangements of only T's leads us to divide the list once again by 2
