Privacy issues: In a Fall 2014 Pew Research survey, 25% of American adults say they are "not at all confident" that the records

of their activity maintained by credit card companies will remain private and secure. With numerous data breaches since then, a consumer group is interested in determining whether the proportion has increased this year. They select a random sample of 300 adults and find that 30% state they are not at all confident. After conducting the hypothesis test for p = 0.25 compared to p > 0.25 . we obtain a -value of 0.023. Which of the following interpretations of the -value is correct? There is a 2.3% chance that 30% or more of a sample of 300 American adults say they are not at all confident that the records of their activity maintained by credit card companies will remain private and secure if 25% of Americans are not at all confident this year. Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The null hypothesis is “the percentage of American adults say they are not at all confident that the records of their activity maintained by credit card companies will remain private and secure is 25%. If this is true, there is a 2.3% chance that a sample of 300 American adults will have 30% or more who say they are not at all confident.

Stels [109]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

If the engine torque y (in foot-pounds) of one model of car is given by y=−3.75x^2+23.2x+38.8

The engine speed is at maximum if dy/dx = 0

dy/dx = -2(3.75)x+23.2

dy/dx = -7.5x + 23.2

since dy/dx = 0

0 =  -7.5x + 23.2

7.5x = 23.2

x = 23.2/7.5

x = 3.093

Hence the maximum torque is 3.09 rev/min

Lou’s Shoes is having its annual Flag Day Sale and is offering a 25% discount on all regularly priced shoes. Kayla spends $13.50
patriot [66]
The easiest way to think of these is to put them in terms of percentages.  Obviously, if you are SAVING 25%, you are SPENDING 75%.  So if she SPENDS 13.50, we can easily use the 75% in an equation. $13.50 = .75x, with x being what the shoes cost originally.  The .75 indicates that she is spending 75% of what the original cost is. You don't have any examples to pick from, but this is the best way to explain what one of the equations could be.  You could also base it on money saved, but the equation is not quite as neat.
