Answer: The difference is that eustress means positive stress, and distress refers to negative stress.

Causes:

Distress can be caused by

- Death of a loved one

- Being accused or neglected

- Injury or illness of a family member

- Losing contact with loved ones

- Legal problems

- Children's problems at school

Eustress can be caused by:

- Receiving a promotion or raise at work

- Starting a new job

- Marriage

- Buying a home

- Having a child

- Taking a vacation

- Holiday seasons

- Taking educational classes or learning a new hobby

Exercising can help with stress because it reduces levels of the body's stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol. It also stimulates the production of endorphins, chemicals in the brain that are the body's natural painkillers and mood elevators.
