6. If a drag racer wins the final round of herrace by going an average speed of 320 m/sin 4.5 seconds, what distance did he cove
Ivan

We want to calculate the distance covered by the drag racer. Recall, the formula for calculating distance is expressed as

Distance = speed x time

From the information given,

speed = 320 m/s

time = 4.5 s

By substituting these values into the formula, we have

Distance = 320 m/s x 4.5s

s cancels out. We are left with m. Thus,

Distance = 1440m

A skater slides across the ice with an initial velocity of 5.0 m/s. She slows 10 points
zvonat [6]

Explanation:

Given that,

The initial velocity of a skater is, u = 5 m/s

She slows to a velocity of 2 m/s over a distance of 20 m.

We can find the acceleration of skater. It is equal to the rate of change of velocity. So, it can be calculated using third equation of motion as follows :

v^2-u^2=2as

a = acceleration

a=\dfrac{v^2-u^2}{2s}\\\\a=\dfrac{(2)^2-(5)^2}{2\times 20}\\\\a=-0.525\ m/s^2

So, her acceleration is 0.525\ m/s^2 and she is deaccelerating. Also, her initial velocity is given i.e. 5 m/s.

vazorg [7]

My response to question (a) and (b) is that all of the element of the rope need to  aid or support the weight of the rope and as such, the tension will tend to increase along with height.

Note that It increases linearly, if the rope is one that do not stretch. So, the wave speed v= √ T/μ   increases with height.

<h3>How does tension affect the speed of a wave in a rope?</h3>

The Increase of the tension placed on a string is one that tends to increases the speed of a wave, which in turn also increases the frequency of any given length.

Therefore,  My response to question (a) and (b) is that all of the element of the rope need to  aid or support the weight of the rope and as such, the tension will tend to increase along with height.  Note that It increases linearly, if the rope is one that do not stretch. So, the wave speed v= √ T/μ   increases with height.
