Answer:

Look below.

Step-by-step explanation:

From looking at this figure we could break it up into 3 different shapes and find the area of each giving us the area of the shape by adding.

Area of a square formula: A=LW

Area of a triangle formula: A=1/2bh

Rectangle:

A=8 x 4

A=32

Triangle 1:

A=1/2bh

A=1/2(3)(2)

A=3

Triangle 2:

A=1/2bh

A=1/2(3)(3)

A=4.5

Now add them all together to get your area of the figure.

32+3+4.5=39.5

Area=39.5

What is the likelihood the next crayon randomly selected will be yellow
tamaranim1 [39]
So.... there are 10 crayons and 8 are yellow.

This means that 8/10 of the crayons are yellow.

So the chance of picking a yellow one is 80%.

To get this, you need to do 8/10 and make it over 100, which is 80/100.  Then, you turn this number into a percent by just dropping the 100 and adding a % to 80 (it's this easy if the bottom denominator is 100)

The work should look something like this;

8:10
8/10
80/100
80%

So, there is an 80% chance that the crayon you pick will be yellow.  Any questions?

Emily measured the height of a dresser as 4.27 feet, but the actual height was 4 feet. What is the percentage of error in Emily’
Assoli18 [71]
We need to find the percentage of the extra feet that she measured, so first we have to find out how much that is. We can do this by simply subtracting:

4.27 - 4 = 0.27

Now we can set up a proportion to find the percentage.

\frac{0.27}{4}  \frac{x}{100}

Solve for x

0.27 x 100 = 27
27/4 = 6.75

The answer is 6.75% :)

Hopefully this helps! If you have any more questions or don't understand, feel free to DM me, and I'll get back to you ASAP! :)
