Answer:

36%

Step-by-step explanation:

20 % solution in 4/5 parts of the mmixture gives 80/5

100% solution in 1/5 parts of the mixture gives 100/5

total would give 80+100/5= 36% solution

What is 17/21 - 2/10 = ___ - ___ = ____
umka2103 [35]

Step-by-step explanation:

step 1. 17/21 - 2/10 = x (in order to subtract you need a common denominator)

step 2. (17/21)(10/10) - (2/10)(21/21) = x

step 3. 170/210 - 42/210 = x

step 4. 128/210 = 64/105 = x

step 5. x = 64/105.

Sally deposits 4000 in a certificate of deposit that pays 6.94% simple interest.What is her balance after one year?
nadezda [96]

Answer:

4277.6

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello, I can help you with this

Step one

find the profit using a simple rule of three

if

4000 ⇔ 100%

then, how much(x) is 6.94?

x        ⇔ 6.94%

the relation is

\frac{4000}{100}=\frac{x}{6.94}\\ solve\ for\ x\\\\x=\frac{4000*6.94}{100}\\x=277.6\\

the profit is 277.6

hence, her balance after one year is the initial amount plus interest earned

balance= 4000+277.6

balance= 4277.6

I hope it helps, Have a great day

HELP! I don’t know what to do for #4. well i don’t know what to put for another equation. i Dont need help solving i just need h
OLga [1]

Let s = #small notebooks

Let L = #large notebooks

We Can set up two equations from the info given.

s + L = 6           bought 6 notebooks total

8s + 10L = 56    spent $56

Solve equation 1 for one variable.

L = 6-s

Plug 6-s in equation 2 in place of L

and solve for s

8s + 10(6-s) = 56

8s + 60 - 10s = 56

-2s + 60 = 56

-2s = -4

s = (-4)/(-2)

s = 2

 We know s+L = 6 and s=2

2+L = 6

L = 4

 4 large notebooks and 2 small notebooks

were purchased

Suppose Eric runs for 4 minutes and walks for 8 minutes how close is he to 1,600 meter goal?
jarptica [38.1K]
Hi there,

Since Eric ran 200 m/min for 4 minutes, then 4×200 = 800m
and he walked 80 m/min for 8 minutes, then 8×80 = 640m
and in total he ran 800 + 640 = 1440m
so he still have 1600 - 1440 = 160m left to reach 1600m

Hope this helped :P
