What is the molarity of a NaOH solution if 28.2 mL of a 0.355 M H2SO4 solution is required to neutralize a 25.0-mL sample of the
Verdich [7]

Answer:

[NaOH} = 0.4 M

Explanation:

In a reaction of neutralization, we determine the equivalence point of the titration. In this case, we have a strong base and a strong acid.

(H₂SO₄, is considered strong, but the first deprotonation is weak)

2NaOH + H₂SO₄ → Na₂SO₄ + 2H₂O

As we have 2 protons in the acid, we need 2 OH⁻ from the base to form 2 molecules of water.

In the equivalence point we know mmoles of base = mmoles of acid

Let's finish the excersise with the formula

25 mL . M NaOH = 28.2 mL . 0.355M

M NaOH = (28.2 mL . 0.355M) / 25 mL → 0.400

A sample of water at 100°C is converted to steam after absorbing 820 kJ of heat. How grams of H2O are contained in the sample? A
Varvara68 [4.7K]
Since water is already at 100°C all the energy is used to evaporate it.
Now we can calculate how many mols of water are evaporated with 820kJ.
N= \frac{820}{41} =20 mol
We calculated that we got 20 mols of water evaporated. Now, all we have to do is find how many grams is a mol of water. Molar mass of water is 20.16 g/mol.
The final answer is:
m=20*20.16=403.2g

What is defined as the number of atoms surrounding an atom in a crystal lattice?
Simora [160]

Answer:

coordination number

Explanation:

Coordination number -

In a crystal lattice , the number of atoms that are surrounded to a particular atom , is referred to as the coordination number of the crystal.

In the field of crystallography and chemistry , it is also called the ligancy.

In coordination chemistry , the number of ligands attached to the central metal atom is also known as the coordination number of the coordination compound.

Hence, from the given statement of the question,

The correct term is coordination number.
