In a series circuit composed of different resistors, the current that goes through each resistor is equal to the current that passes through the other resistor/s. This is different from the parallel circuit where the resistors absorb different amounts of current. the answer to this problem then is D.

A proton and an electron are moving in the +x direction in a magnetic field in the +z
Aleksandr [31]

Answer:

Explanation:

Force on a moving charge is given by the following relation

F = q ( v x B )

for proton

q = e  ,   v = vi  , B = Bk

F = e ( vi x Bk )

= Bev - j

= - Bevj

The direction of force is along negative of y axis or -y - axis.

for electron

q = - e  ,   v = vi  , B = Bk

F = - e ( vi x Bk )

= - Bev - j

=  Bevj

The direction of force is along positive  of y axis or + y - axis.

If R = 20 Ω, what is the equivalent resistance between points A and B in the figure?
poizon [28]

Answer:

c. 70 Ω

Explanation:

The R and R resistors are in parallel.  The 2R and 2R resistors are in parallel.  The 4R and 4R resistors are in parallel.  Each parallel combination is in series with each other.  Therefore, the equivalent resistance is:

Req = 1/(1/R + 1/R) + 1/(1/2R + 1/2R) + 1/(1/4R + 1/4R)

Req = R/2 + 2R/2 + 4R/2

Req = 3.5R

Req = 70Ω
