Nezavi [6.7K]

Let the numbers be x = 5x+18

3(5x+18) + 4x= 16

15x+ 54+ 4x= 16

19x = 16-54

X=-38/19

X= -2

5x+18= 5 × -2+18 = 8

Can someone please help me.. very quickly .. thank you
Alisiya [41]
X/8 + 12 = 16
start by subtracting twelve from both sides
x/8 + 12 = 16
      - 12   -12
You're left with x/8 = 4
Multiply both sides by 8
8× x/8 = 4 ×8
Your answer is x = 32
If you need to simplify, the answer is 2.
