A house owner wishes to cover their roof with solar panels. Each solar panel is of the following size. The roof section is recta

ngular 7.2 m by 4.4 m. Each solar panel measures 1400 mm by 850 mm. There needs to be at least a 30 cm gap left at each edge of the roof section. The house owner thinks he can have at least 15 solar panels fitted to the roof section. Can u agree? If yes, show the working.

Answer:

Hello Arjun, The Answer Is 26.54 panels.

Explanation:

Dimensions of roof section: 7.2m By 4.4m

Area Of Roof: 7.2*4.4 = 31.68m²

Dimension of solar panels: 1400mm by 850mm

= 1400÷1000 by 850÷1000 = 1.4m by 0.85m

So We can say that: Area each solar panel = 1.4 * 0.85 = 1.19m²

The 30 CM Gap On All Edges Gives Us A Square Of Side = 30 Cm = 0.3 M

So, The Area Of Gap Left = 0.3*0.3 = 0.9m²

Now, The Total Area That Can Be Covered Is 31.68-0.9 = 31.59m²

So, Now we Divide The area remaining with the area of the solar panel that is: 31.59 ÷ 1.19m² = 26.54 Panels...

Answer:

 a) The new triangle is a reflection of the original across the origin. All angles, segment lengths, and line slopes have been preserved: the transformed triangle is congruent with the original.

 b) The new triangle is a reflection of the original across the origin and a dilation by a factor of 2. Angles have been preserved: the transformed triangle is similar to the original. The transformation is NOT rigid.

Step-by-step explanation:

1. The transformed triangle is blue in the attachment. It is congruent with the original. The transformation is "rigid," a reflection across the origin. All angles and lengths have been preserved, as well as line slopes.

__

2. The transformed triangle is orange in the attachment. It is similar to the original, in that angles have been preserved and lengths are proportional. It is a reflection across the origin and a dilation by a factor of 2. Line slopes have also been preserved. A dilation is NOT a "rigid" transformation.
