Because a percent is a fraction of 1/100 of a whole thing. for example a whole is 200 and we want to find the 37% of it, we would divide 200 over 100 (which is the percent of the whole thing) and the multiply it by 37 (that is the percentage of the part of the whole thing) and we get 74.
74=37% of 200

You and three friends go to a baseball game. You each pay $2 for a drink and x dollars for nachos. Use the Distributive Property
BabaBlast [244]

Answer:

The simplified expression for the total amount the group pays is (6 + 3·x) dollars

Step-by-step explanation:

The given parameters are;

The number of friends that went to the baseball game = 3

The amount each paid for a drink = $2

The amount each paid for nachos = x dollars

Therefore, the amount each spend = $2 + x dollars

The total amount the three friends spend = 3 × ($2 + x dollars)

By distributive property is given as follows;

a × (b + c) = a × b + a × c

a × (b - c) = a × b - a × c

Given that a, b, and c are real numbers

Therefore;

The total amount the three friends spend = 3 × ($2 + x dollars) = 3 × $2 + 3 × x dollars

The total amount the three friends spend = 3 × $2 + 3 × x dollars

The simplified expression for the total amount the group pays = $(6 + 3·x) = (6 + 3·x) dollars.
