Anxiously-attached individuals in the general population tend to have low levels of satisfaction in their romantic relationships

(μ = 10, σ = 5, positively skewed distribution). A therapist interested in increasing relationship satisfaction provides a week-long relaxation seminar to 11 anxious individuals. After completing the seminar, relationship satisfaction in the sample averages 12. What is the shape of the comparison distribution?

Answer:

8.34% ( parabolic shape )

Explanation:

mean value ( μ ) = 10

std ( σ ) = 5

n = 11

simple average = 12

positively skewed distribution

Determine the shape of the comparison distribution

Note : The shape of the comparison distribution is dependent on the percentage of the scores that will fall above the Z-score since it is a positively skewed distribution

lets calculate the Z-score

Z = ( simple average - mean value ) / ( std / √ n )

 = ( 12 - 10 ) / ( 5 √ 11 )

 = 1.32

Next determine the percentage above Z -score

i.e. p(z>1.32) = 8.34% ( form z table )

attached below is the shape

A 75 kg skydiver can be modeled as a rectangular "box" with dimensions 20 cm * 40 cm * 180 cm. what is his terminal speed if he
Zina [86]

Terminal speed=136.7 m/s

the formula for the terminal speed is given by :

V= \sqrt{\frac{2 mg}{\rho a C}}

m= mass=75 kg

a= area=0.2 x 0.4=0.08 m²

ρ= density of air=1.23 kg/m³

C= drag constant =0.8

so V= \sqrt{\frac{2 *75*9.8}{1.23*0.08*0.8}}

v= 136.7 m/s

Problem
Naddik [55]

Answer:

s = 50.4 m

Hence, the point C is 50.4 m towards east from point B

Explanation:

Since, the motorcyclist travels at a constant speed in straight line towards east after point B. Therefore, we can use the following equation in this case:

s = vt

where,

s = distance covered = position of point C = ?

v = uniform speed of motorcyclist = 18 m/s

t = time interval = 2.8 s

Therefore,

s = (18 m/s)(2.8 s)

s = 50.4 m

Hence, the point C is 50.4 m towards east from point B
