Graph a line that contains the point (3,-6) and has a slope of -1/2
djyliett [7]
If I were you, I would make the starting point (3,-6). From there, you will want to use the slope of -1/2 (go down 1 unit and to the right 2 units and draw a point)

Help me pleaseeeee?!
den301095 [7]

Answer:

#1: -1.5, -0.5, 1/2, 1.5

#2:  -3, -1, 1.2, 2.3

Step-by-step explanation:

#1

First we have to figure out the correct order before we plot.

Find the biggest number:

looking at the number the biggest would be 1.5

Find the smallest number:

Looking at the number the smallest would be -1.5

Now that we have that we can easily figure out the rest...

(Going from least to greatest; like on a number line)

-1.5, -0.5, 1/2, 1.5 (That is how you will place the first one)

#2

(Use the steps from above to find the answer)

Biggest: 2.3

Smallest: -3

Order: -3, -1, 1.2, 2.3 (Placing on number line use that order)

Hope this helps :)

How many 3/4 ounce spoonfuls of sugar<br> are in a 5 1/2 ounce bowl?<br> show work please
klasskru [66]

Answer: \frac{22}{3}

Step-by-step explanation: Divide

5\frac{1}{2}\div \frac{3}{4}

Step 1: Convert the mixed number to improper fraction

5 \frac{1}{2} =\frac{11}{2}

= \frac{11}{2}\div \frac{3}{4}

Step 2: Reciprocal

\frac{11}{2}\times \frac{4}{3}

Step 3: Divide the common factors

4 \div 2 = 2\\\\=\frac{11}{1}\times \frac{2}{3}

Step 4: Multiply

\frac{11\times \:2}{1\times \:3}\\\\=\frac{22}{3}

A muffin recipe, which yields 12 muffins, calls for 2/3 cup of milk for every 1 3/4 cups of flour. The same recipe calls for 1/4
vovikov84 [41]

Answer:

18

Step-by-step explanation:

First I'm making all mixed numbers improper fractions.

Base recipe: 12 muffins = 2/3 milk + 7/4 flour + 1/4 coconut + 3/4 apple

Change: 9/8 apple

On second look, I ddn't need to do that except for the last one, the change in apple.  When increasing things proportionally you basically multiply everything by the same number.  A simple example.

Say a recipe made 10 of something with 1 of ingredient A and 2 of ingredient B.  Well, what if you made the recipe twice?  that would be 20 things from 2 of A and 4 of B.  This is the same as changing the recipe to make double.  It works if you halve things as well, or multiply by any number or fraction.

So the point is, we changed the amount of apples.  We want to know how much we changed it by, then that much is how much the total number of muffins changes.  So if we doubled apples the muffins would double, but I don't think it's that simple.

Started at 3/4 cup of chopped apple and increased to 9/8 cups.  We want to know what to multiiply by to do this.  So we set up a simple algebraic equation.

(3/4)x = 9/8

where x is what we multiply by.  Now, to do this you could do one step, divide by 3/4 or you could do it in two steps, multiply both sides by 4 then divide by 3.  Or the other way around.  Either way you will get the same number.

(3/4)x = 9/8

3x = 9/2

x = 3/2

And you can (and should) double check

(3/4)x = 9/8

(3/4)(3/2) = 9/8

9/8 = 9/8

Yay!  If you don't gt fraction multiplication let me know.  But the recipie is an increase of 3/2 or 1.5, so there will be 1.5 as many muffins.

12*1.5 = 12(3/2) = 18
