Given the function h(x)=-4+6, Find the value of h(-2)

Mathematics
1 answer:
valina [46]3 years ago
4 0

h(x) = -4 + 6

h(x) = 2

h(-2) = 2 because It's a constant function, when you substitute any x-values, you still get the same y-value.

Even if you substitute x = 1000, you still get y = 2.

Therefore, h(-2) = 2

-----------

If you mean h(x) = -4x+6

then h(-2) = 8+6 = 14

therefore, h(-2) = 14 for h(x) = -4x+6

How do you solve a proof?
ziro4ka [17]
To solve a proof, you need to distinguish which is the hypothesis and which is the conclusion. The hypothesis is the starting point and the conclusion is the ending point. We go from hypothesis to conclusion. A conditional statement can be written as If A, then B. Where A is the hypothesis and B is the conclusion.

For example, take this theorem.

If two sides of a triangle<span> are congruent, then the angles opposite those sides are congruent.
</span>
We go from Two sides of a triangle are congruent to the angles opposite those sides are congruent.

The first statement's reason is pretty much always Given.

                                                         Statement | Reason
1. Two sides of a triangle are congruent         1. Given
....                                                                        After a bunch of steps
3. the angles opposite those sides are congruent. 3. Your postulate of definition of what reason you need to complete the last step.

Sorry if this is a little confusing.

Question 5 (1 point) Most fossils are two million years old. True False
Vikki [24]

Answer:

False

Step-by:-step explanation

2 million years

The oldest reliably classified fossils belonging to the genus Homo date back to a little over 2 million years ago. They belong to H. habilis, a type of ancient hominin that scientists classify as the first of our genus, and which may have led to H. erectus, one of our direct ancestors

The table below shows values for functions f(x) = g(x) <br> What are the solutions to f(x) = g(x)?
MakcuM [25]
The solutions to f(x) = g(x) are where the x-values for which the output f(x) is equal to the output of g(x).

What I mean by this is for instance, you input 7 into f(x) and g(x) and you get the same answer, then 7 is a solution.

Here, we are looking in columns two and three to see which rows are equal. It looks like when you input 0 into both f(x) and g(x), you get 2, and when you input 1 into both f(x) and g(x), you get 3. Therefore, (0,2) and (1,3) are your solutions.
