Find x, if 3x − 5(y + x ) ^2 = 16 and 4x + 2(y + x )^ 2 = 30
lana66690 [7]

Answer:

x = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

Start by solving for (y+x)^2 which is a common expression for both equations. Then in the first equation:

3\,x5\,(y+x)^2=16\\3x-16=5\,(y+x)^2\\(y+x)^2=\frac{3\,x-16}{5}

and in the second equation:

4\,x+2\,(y+x)^2=30\\2\,(y+x)^2=30-4\,x\\(y+x)^2=15-2\,x

Now we make the two (y+x)^2 expressions equal so we get:

\frac{3\,x-16}{5} =15-2\,x\\3\,x-16=75-10\,x\\13\,x=75+16\\13\,x=91\\x=7

Why is the answer 2 in the subtractive equation 1+1?
Yuki888 [10]

Answer:

That's not a subtractive equation, the symbol that you used indicates that it is an addition equation. if the question was 1-1 then the answer wouldn't be 2 but since the question is 1+1 the answer is 2

Use the equation a = IaIâ
german

Answer:

a) \:\:=\sqrt{14}\cdot \frac{\:\:}{\sqrt{14} }

b)\:\:=\sqrt{29} \cdot \frac{\:\:}{\sqrt{29} }

c) \:\:=7\cdot \frac{\:\:}{7}

Step-by-step explanation:

a) Let <u>a</u>=<2,1,-3>

The magnitude of <u>a</u> is |a|=\sqrt{2^2+1^2+(-3)^2}

|a|=\sqrt{4+1+9}=\sqrt{14}

The unit vector in the direction of a is

\hat{a}=\frac{\:\:}{\sqrt{14} }

Using the relation a=|a|\hat{a}, we have

\:\:=\sqrt{14}\cdot \frac{\:\:}{\sqrt{14} }

b) Let a=2i - 3j + 4k

|a|=\sqrt{2^2+(-3)^2+4^2}

|a|=\sqrt{4+9+16}=\sqrt{29}

\hat{a}=\frac{\:\:}{\sqrt{29} }

Using the relation a=|a|\hat{a}, we have

\:\:=\sqrt{29} \cdot \frac{\:\:}{\sqrt{29} }

c) Let us first find the sum of <1, 2, -3> and <2, 4, 1> to get:

<1+2, 2+4, -3+1>=<3, 6, -2>

Let a=<3, 6, -2>

The magnitude is

|a|=\sqrt{3^2+6^2+(-2)^2}

|a|=\sqrt{9+36+4}=\sqrt{49}=7

The unit vector in the direction of <u>a</u> is

\hat{a}=\frac{\:\:}{7}

Using the relation a=|a|\hat{a}, we have

\:\:=7\cdot \frac{\:\:}{7}

three vertices of a rectangle are located at (5,3), (7,1), and (1,-1). what are the coordinates of the fourth vertex?
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

I first plotted the three points and from from their position it was clear which pairs to join to start a rectangle.

At this point you need to check to make sure the angle at B is a right angle. Find the slope of the line segments AB and BC and check that the product of the slopes is -1.

From the diagram you can now see where the fourth point D has to be. If AB and CD are parallel then D must be 3 units to the left of C and 2 units above C. Find the coordinates of D and then check by finding the slopes of CD and DA and showing that the angle at D is a right angle.

I hope this helps
