Ethylene glycol is the main component in automobile antifreeze. To monitor the temperature of an auto cooling system, you intend

to use a meter that reads from 0 to 100. You devise a new temperature scale based on the approximate melting and boiling points of a typical antifreeze solution (-45oC and 115oC). You wish these points to correspond to 0oA and 100oA, respectively. What is a temperature of 45oC in oA

Answer:

X = 27 .

Explanation:

Centigrade scale : melting point O⁰C , boiling point 100⁰C

New scale          melting point -45⁰C   , boiling point 115⁰C

Formula relating the two scale

\frac{C- 0 }{100-0} =\frac{X-(-45)}{115-( -45) }

\frac{C }{100} =\frac{(X+45)}{(115 +45) }

\frac{C }{100} =\frac{(X+45)}{160}

Given C = 45

X = ?

\frac{45 }{100} =\frac{(X+45)}{160}

X + 45 = 72

X = 27 .

The density of acetic acid is 1.05 g/mL. What is the volume of 327 g of acetic acid
Eva8 [605]

Answer:

311.43\ \text{mL}

Explanation:

\rho = Density of acetic acid = 1.05\ \text{g/mL}

m = Mass of acetic acid = 327\ \text{g}

V = Volume

Density is given by

\rho=\dfrac{m}{V}\\\Rightarrow V=\dfrac{m}{\rho}\\\Rightarrow V=\dfrac{327}{1.05}\\\Rightarrow V=311.43\ \text{mL}

The volume of acetic acid is 311.43\ \text{mL}.

Atrial natriuretic peptide is a hormone that controls blood pressure in part by increasing the urinary excretion of sodium. True
mariarad [96]

Answer:

The answer is "true"

Explanation:

ANP, or ANF, is a human peptide hormone, that controls your blood pressure, a cardiac atrium secretion hormone. It response primarily to the volume and stress expansion of the auricles and ventricles.

  • ANP's main function decreases the amount of increased extracellular fluid by increasing renal excretion.
  • This hormone is primarily developed by cardiovascular myocytes and, emanates from the wall tension locally, that's why the given statement is true.

What happens to the motion of molecules in a substance is cooled?
Mazyrski [523]
The motion becomes smaller. Lets tale the example of water. At gaseous state, the particles moves rapidly in all directions. As it is cooled, it becomes liquid and the motion becomes smaller because the particles are now closer to each other as the attraction forces becomes stronger. As it is cooled further, it becomes solid. At solid state, the particles now vibrate in fixed position. Apply this concept to motion of molecules in a substance.
