The answers are A, B, & C. Steroid hormones have a longer half-life than peptide hormones because steroid hormones ride on carrier proteins in the blood. In other words, they are bound to protein carriers that transport molecules across the membrane. They can also be stored temporarily in the adipose tissue. And also, steroid hormones are sent to the nucleus where it regulates transcription while peptides don’t require this process. This is the reason why the effects of steroid hormones are exerted more slowly than peptides.

One group of reptiles, exemplified by the fossil Archaeopteryx, led to the evolution of ________. One group of reptiles, exempli
IrinaK [193]

Answer:

birds

Explanation:

Archaeopteryx is an iconic fossil bird that lived during the Late Jurassic, approximately 150 million years ago. Archaeopteryx is iconic because it is a transitional fossil between non-avian dinosaurs (reptiles) and birds. The osteology of Archaeopteryx indicates that it was similar to that of nonavian theropod dinosaurs, i.e., dinosaurs characterized by hollow bones and three-toed limbs. Unlike modern birds, Archaeopteryx had a full set of teeth, a long tail, three fingers with claws and hyperextensible second toes commonly known as 'killing claws'.

With ideal environmental factors, the reproduction rate of bacteria is...
Artist 52 [7]

With ideal environmental factors, bacteria are able to reproduce at a very rapid pace.

Bacterial reproduction

Bacteria reproduce mainly by a single cell dividing into two, given the right condition. In order words, they reproduced by binary fission.

When environmental conditions are optimum, a typical bacterial cell can divide every 4 to 20 minutes depending on the species.

The time can become longer with sub-optimal environmental conditions.
