Answer:

The probability of both dice having the same number is 636, as there are 36 different outcomes, 6 of which have two of the same number, i.e. (1,1),(2,2),....

The expected number of rolls of this type in 100 pairs of dice rolls is 100∗636

Melvin is pushing a tire during workout with the dimensions shown how many square inches of space has a tire covered after Melvi
valentina_108 [34]

Answer:

The answer is below

Step-by-step explanation:

The question is not complete, but I would show you how to solve it.

Solution:

A circle is the locus of a point such that its distance from a fixed point which is its center is always constant.

The tire has the shape of a circle. Therefore the distance the tire covers if it is pushed around once is the same as the circumference of the tire. The circumference is given by:

Circumference = 2πr; where r is the radius of the tire

Let us assume that the tire has a radius of 7 cm. Hence:

Circumference = 2π(7) = 44 cm

If the tire moves around 5 times, the distance covered = 5 * circumference of tire = 5 * 44 cm = 220 cm

Describe the meaning of the y-intercept
neonofarm [45]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

In the equation of a straight line (when the equation is written as "y = mx + b"), the slope is the number "m" that is multiplied on the x, and "b" is the y-intercept (that is, the point where the line crosses the vertical y-axis).

If f(3)=7 and f(1)=5, what is the function of f(x)?
Alexandra [31]
<span>f(3)=7 and f(1)=5, is just another way to say x = 3 and y = 7, as well as x = 1 and y = 5, which gives us the points of (3,7) and (1,5), so let's use them,

</span>\bf \begin{array}{ccccccccc}&#10;&&x_1&&y_1&&x_2&&y_2\\&#10;%  (a,b)&#10;&&(~ 3 &,& 7~) &#10;%  (c,d)&#10;&&(~ 1 &,& 5~)&#10;\end{array}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;% slope  = m&#10;slope =  m\implies &#10;\cfrac{\stackrel{rise}{ y_2- y_1}}{\stackrel{run}{ x_2- x_1}}\implies \cfrac{5-7}{1-3}\implies \cfrac{-2}{-2}\implies 1&#10;\\\\\\&#10;% point-slope intercept&#10;\stackrel{\textit{point-slope form}}{y- y_1= m(x- x_1)}\implies y-7=1(x-3)&#10;\\\\\\&#10;y-7=x-3\implies y=x+4<span>

Can somebody please help me? I don't understand this!
Xelga [282]
Use the base of the triangle as the diameter, which in this case is 16, divide it by 2, which is 8, and then square it, which is 64, and multiply by Pi (64 times Pi is 200.96) so you can find the area of the whole circle which is 200.96ft^2. Since this is an equilateral triangle, the height might be 16, so using the area of a triangle, A=BH times 1/2, We multiply 16 by 16 which is 256. 256 times 1/2 is 128. So the area of the triangle will be 128ft^2. We then subtract our areas, 200.96-128 which is 72.96. Then therefore the area of the circle will be 72.96ft^2. I may be wrong, but this is what I think.
