A box with weight of magnitude F_G = 2.00 N is lowered by a rope down a smooth plane that is inclined at an angle φ = 30.0 degre

es about ve the horizontal. The normal force acting on the box has a magnitude n = 1.73 N, the tension force is 1.00 N, and the displacement Δr of the box is 1.80 m down the cloned plane.
What is the work W_G done on the box by the gravity?

Answer:

1.8 J

Explanation:

I had this exact question today and found someone who had solved it before, this was their response to the work done by gravity. They used the name "physicsmom"

Vertical distance = 1.8 sin 30 = .9 m

W = 2 N * .9 m = 1.8J

Good luck! I hope this helps!

A watermelon is blown into three pieces by a large firecracker. Two pieces of equal mass m fly away perpendicular to one another
laiz [17]

Answer

given,

watermelon blown into three pieces

two pieces of mass m

both pieces speed = v = 31 m/s

mass of third piece = 3 m

using conservation of mass

0 = m V \hat{i} + m V \hat{j} + (3\ m)V_3

V_3 = \dfrac{V}{3}(-\hat{i}-\hat{j})

V_3 = \dfrac{V}{3}\sqrt{1^2+1^2}

V_3 = \dfrac{V}{3}\sqrt{2}

velocity of third component

V_3 = \dfrac{31}{3}\sqrt{2}

V_3 = 14.61\ m/s

angle

\theta = tan^{-1}(\dfrac{-1}{-1})

\theta = tan^{-1}(1)

\theta = 45^0

A) -3.75 meters/second
A=(20^2-80^2)/(2x800)
=(400-6400)/1600
=-6000/1600
=-3.75
B) 16 seconds
t=(20-80)/-3.75
=-60/-3.75
=16
