Complete Question

While john is traveling along a straight in interstate highway, he notices that the mile marker reads 242 km. John travels until he reaches the 147 km marker and then retraces his path to the 161 km marker. What is John's resultant displacement from the 242 km marker? How far has he traveled answer in units of km

Answer:

The resultant displacement \Delta x _{1 , 3} = 81 \ km

The total distance traveled by john is  x_t =109 \ km

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

      The first position of john from the finish point   is x_1 = 242 \ km

       The second position of john from the finish point is   x_2 = 147 \ km

        The third position of john from the finish point is x_3 = 161 \ km

Generally the displacement from the 242 km  marker is mathematically represented as

          \Delta x _{1 , 3} =  x_1 - x_3

Here we used x_3 instead of  x_2 because x_3 is further than x_2 from the finish point

=>       \Delta x _{1 , 3} = 81 \ km

Generally the total distance traveled by John is  mathematically evaluated as

         x_t =  [x_1 - x_2 ] + [x_3 - x_2]

=>       x_t =  [242  - 147 ] + [161 - 147]

=>       x_t =109 \  km

When the electric field strength is large, electric field lines are: a) close together.
LekaFEV [45]

Answer: a) close together

Explanation: The electric field lines also  represent the intensity of the field, in this sense  for strong electric fields it is usually draw the lines close to each other. In constrast when they are far apart the electric field is weak.

According to Care-stream's operating manual, what is the acceptable range of exposure indicators?
Aleks [24]

Answer:

correct option is C. 1700 - 2300

Explanation:

solution

according to Care stream, exposure indicators provide the technical adequancy incident radiations on the x ray

and we muse care stream formula that is

Exposure Index EI = 1000 × log_{10} (mR) + 2000

here 1 mR = 2000 EI

and 2 mR = 2300 EI

and 3 mR = 1700 EI

so here acceptable range of exposure indicators is  1700 - 2300

correct option is C. 1700 - 2300

The Pacific Ocean has a durface area of about 116,214,700 km^2 and an average depth of 3940m. Estimate the volume of the Pacific
Anastaziya [24]

The volume is given by:

V = Ad

V = volume, A = surface area, d = depth

Given values:

A = 116214700km² = 1.162147×10¹⁸cm², d = 3940m = 394000cm

Plug in and solve for V:

V = 1.162147×10¹⁸(394000)

V = 4.57885918×10²³cm³
