At the hardware store 2/4 of the nails are size 2d and 1/4 of the nails are size 4D what fraction of the nails are either size 2
sashaice [31]

Answer:

\frac{3}{4} of the nails are either size 2d or 4d

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

\frac{2}{4} of the nails are size 2d

\frac{1}{4} of the nails are size 4D

so

To find the fraction of the nails that are either size 2d or 4d, sum \frac{2}{4} plus \frac{1}{4}

\frac{2}{4} +\frac{1}{4}=\frac{3}{4}

Help me guys it is homework pleased ⇄ ∛
VashaNatasha [74]

Answer:

I haven't done these in 2 years and I'm not sure if I remember things correctly but here's what I would put down.

5) No, it is not because the sizes of each section are not even.

6) Yes, this is fair since there are a even chance of getting each number.

7) 3 out of 25 or 3/25

8) The bag with 250 colored tiles would give him a less chance of picking a blue tile. In the first bag, there is a 40% chance that Greg would pick a blue tile while the second bag, he would have a 30% chance of picking a blue tile. To get these percentages, I divided the the amount of blue tiles in the bag by the total amount of tiles.

Explantion for question 8: 10 blue tiles in a bag of 25 so you would do 10/25 which is .4 and as a percentage it would be 40%. For the second question, 75 blue tiles out of 250 total so 75/250 and that would be .3 and as a percentage, it would be 30%. The "/" is a fraction bar and is sometimes used as a division symbol as well, just in case you don't know:)

Made up of quantities and the operations performed on them<br><br> what is this vocab word
maxonik [38]
Equation. This word may fit your definition of a set of values or numbers –intergers- coupled with basic operations. Equation is mathematical form of body where there are two adjacent corners which aims as the word says, equation. Take for instance in illustration 2x + 5x = 7x. This “equation” is composed of these numbers with unknowns and the operation of addition with them. When you have solved for 7x in the example, it only shows that to attain “equation”, solution is performed and done. Hence, these two works relationally.
