How to round or estimate

Mathematics

To round is like = 6,500, which would round to 7,000 if you were rounding the 6 in 6,500. But if the number to the right of the number you are rounding is less than 5 then the number stays the same and the numbers to the right are turned into 0. I.E. 6,500 rounds to 7,000 but if it is 6,400 it rounds down and goes to 6,000.

But to estimate is to find an awnser by using rounding or something similar to find an answer close to the Awnser wanted.

Sams brother is 7 years older than Sam. His mother is 4 less than 3 times sams age. Their combined age is 63. How old isn’t Sam,
statuscvo [17]

The answer is 14. This is because 63=3+x+3x-4. Then You just subtract it and then you get 64=4x. Then you just divide it and then you get x=16.

Find the missing angle measures in the given rhombus.
jeyben [28]

Answer:

(1) = 38\°

(2) = 90\°

(3) = 90\°

(4) = 38\°

Step-by-step explanation:

The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular to each other, so angles (2) and (3) are equal 90°.

To find angle (1), we can use the sum of internal angles in the left triangle with angles 52°, (1), and (2):

52 + (1) + (2) = 180

(1) = 180 - 52 - 90

(1) = 38\°

The diagonals of a rhombus bisects the angles, to the angle next to the angle of 52° is also 52°, then, in the upper triangle, we have:

52 + (4) + 90 = 180

(4) = 38\°

An airplane flies 3800 km in 4 hours 45 minutes. What is its average speed in kilometers per hour?
8_murik_8 [283]

Average speed = (distance covered in some time)  /  (time to cover the distance)

4 hours 45 minutes = 4-3/4 hours = 4.75 hours

Average speed  =  (3,800 km) / (4.75 hours)  =  800 km/hr

What is the equation of a line that is parallel to y=2/3x+4 and passes through the point (3,7)
jeka57 [31]

Answer:

y=2/3x+5

Step-by-step explanation:

Parallel lines share the same slope so we already know the slope: 2/3.

Now we need to find the y-intercept for the equation. To do that, replace 4 with b. We have y=2/3x+b.

To find out what b is, we need to plug in the x and y values we are given into the current equation. We get 7=2/3(3)+b.

7=2+b

5=b

Now we can put all the information we have together.

y=2/3x+5

Eddi Din [679]
1) The population

Is the set of all the terms that the teacher taught this semester and which he wrote down on the note cards and put in the paper bag.

2) The sample is every set of five cards that is selected by each student.

3) I think the sample is representative because all ther terms have the same probability of being selected.

Further, given that the cards are replaced every time all the students will face the same population when they are going to select a sample.
