To say nothing of their value as fountains of timber, they are worth infinitely more than all the gardens and parks of towns. What is the main point Muir is trying to make? Every part of the environment is important and needs protection. The government needs to protect national forests on a wider scale. Public parks and towns need to be beautified with trees and gardens. National forests should be treated like a resource for businesses to exploit.
