Part A: Sydney made $18.50 selling lemonade, by the cup, at her yard sale. She sold each cup for $0.50 and received a $3 tip fro

m a neighbor. Write an equation to represent this situation. (4 points)
Part B: Daria made a profit of $21.00 selling lemonade. She sold her lemonade for $0.75 per cup, received a tip of $3 from a neighbor, but also had to buy each plastic cup she used for $0.10 per cup. Write an equation to represent this situation. (4 points)

Answer:

Part A: x0.50 + 3 = 18.50

Part B: x0.75 + 3 - x0.10 = 21

Part C: The equations from Part A and Part B differ because of the cost of plastic cup.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of cup of lemonade sold. Therefore, we have:

Part A:

This situation can be represented by the following equation:

x0.50 + 3 = 18.50

Part B:

This situation can be represented by the following equation:

x0.75 + 3 - x0.10 = 21

Part C:

The equations from Part A and Part B differ because of the cost of plastic cup.

For equation from Part A, revenue is the same as profit as Sydney does incur any cost to buy plastic cup before selling her lemonade.

For equation from Part B, revenue is different from profit because Daria has to incur the cost of plastic cup which $0.10 per cup of lemonade before selling her lemonade.

Answer:

Part A

0.15·x + 3 = 18.50

Part B

0.65·x + 3 - y = 21.00

Part C

The equation in part A gives the total revenue of the yard sale, while the equation in part B gives the profit of the yard sale

Step-by-step explanation:

Part A

The total amount Sydney made selling lemonade = $18.50

The amount she sold a cup of lemonade = $0.50

The amount she received as tip from a neighbor = $3

Let x represent the number of cups sold, we have;

0.15·x + 3 = 18.50

Part B

The profit Daria made = 21.00

The price per cup of lemonade = $0.75

The amount she received as tip = $3

The cost of each plastic cup = $0.10

Let x represent the number of cups sold, we have;

0.75·x - 0.1·x + 3 - y = 21.00

∴ 0.65·x + 3 - y = 21.00

Where;

y = The cost of making the lemonade

Part C

The difference in the two equation is that the first equation relates to total revenue, while the second equation takes account of the costs of the cup and he lemonade

Carol's starting pay for her summer job is $10.25 per hour. Carol earns exactly 3 raises this summer.
kvv77 [185]
She starts off with $10.25 and gets a raise of $0.50, so she earns $10.75 per hour. Then she gets a raise of 10%, so then 10.75 x 0.10 = 1.075, so she earns $11.825 per hour. Then her third raise is $0.50 so she earns $12.325 per hour. The raise for next summer is 5%, so 12.325 x 0.05 = 0.61625, so she earns $12.94125.
She will earn about $12.94 per hour starting off next summer.

Please help me...I don't get it-
DaniilM [7]

Answer:

1. It would be the second block. Bill reads 3 books EACH week. I know you’re looking for that X to be 1 but if you look 3 books x 5 weeks = 15 books and so on.

2. It would be the first block. Exactly on 6 weeks he reads 6 books meaning that by week 3 (which is half) he would have read haof the books (2). And same for week 12 you and another 4 which gets you 8 books.

3. It’s the last block. On week 12 he read 4 books. Half of 12 is 6 so it would be half books and week 3 is half of that which is 1 book per 3 weeks.

4. Is the third block. (Process of elimination lol) but also easily you can find the rate of each week by dividing the 15 books by 10 weeks which gets you 1.5 books read per week

A regular octagon rotates 360° about its center. How many times does the image of the octagon coincide with the preimage during
diamong [38]
The number of times the image of the octagon will coincide with the preimage during rotation is determined by:
N = R/C

where
N is the number of times the preimage coincided with the rotated image during rotation
R is the angle of rotation
C is the central angle of the regular polygon

For an octagon, the central angle is
C = 360/8 = 45

So,
N = 360 / 45 = 8

Therefore, the rotated image of the octagon will coincide with the preimage 8 times during rotation.
