Answer:

600,000 km²

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the exponential regression calculator : the regression fit obtained for the data is :

36510 * (1.08^x)

After 40 years ;

x = 40

Hence,

y = 36510 * 1.08^40

y = 36510 * 21.72452

y = 793,162.27 km

Hence, y is closest to 800,000 km

Between which pair of numbers is the exact product of 379 and 8.
artcher [175]

So many answers possible.

Let us take, by numbers they mean integers.

Now, the product of 379 and 8 is 3032.

Clearly, on the number line, this number is between the numbers 3031 and 3033.

Hence, the exact product of 379 and 8 is between the pair of numbers 3031 and 3033.

Hope this makes sense.

MAX POINTS TO BEST ANSWER!
NISA [10]

Note: (f/g)(x) can be written as

f(x)/g(x). This simply means f(x) divided by g(x).

We know what f(x) and g(x) are because that information is given to us in the problem. See it?

Set up the rational function and factor.

(x^2 - 9)/(x^2 -4x + 3)

We now factor the top and bottom.

(x - 3)(x + 3)/(x - 3)(x - 1)

Cancel out common terms.

We now have (x + 3)/(x - 1) as the reduced rational function.

To find the domain, set the bottom to 0 and solve for x.

x - 1 = 0

x = 1

The domain is ALL REAL NUMBERS EXCEPT FOR 1. In the given function, x CANNOT BE 3 because this would create a zero in the denominator.

Answer in interval notation is

(-00, 1) U (1, 3) U (1, 00).

The interval notation reads as follows:

All negative numbers included but not 1 united with the open interval that does not include 1 and 3 united with the interval that excludes 1 but includes all positive numbers greater than 1. I hope this is clear.

Ben said that when you divide a positive decimal by a negative decimal, the answer will be less than 0.
masha68 [24]

I do believe that Ben's statement is always true because of the fact that when you divide a positive by a negative, or a negative by a positive, it will always equal a negative. For the equation 5.4/-6.8 the answer is -0.79411764705. And the equation -6.8/5.4 is equal to -1.25925925926. It will always equal to less then zero, except when you divide by zero.
