1) A farm has chickens and cows. You ask the farmer how many chickens he has, and how many cows he has. The farmer tells you he

has 28 healthy animals, and they have a total of 64 legs. How many of his animals are cows?
2) Andrew has a collection of soda bottles. Some of them are 12-ounce bottles, and others are 16-ounce bottles. If the collection contains 20 bottles which hold a combined 300 ounces, how many of the soda bottles are 12-ounce bottles?

Need two variables and two equations for each. It also needs to be solved.

What is the quotient of d − 2 √ d 4 − 5 d 3 + d + 17
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer: d^3 - 3d^2-5

Step-by-step explanation:

For finding the quotient of the given division,

In the long division method, we will follow the following steps.

Step 1 : Here the divisor is d-2 and dividend is d^4-5 d^3 + d + 17

Multiply (d-2) by d^3  and subtract the dividend by the resultant.

We get -3d^3+d

Step 2: Multiply (d-2) by -3d^2  and subtract the remaining dividend by the resultant.

We get  -5d^2+17

Step 3 : Multiply (d-2) by -5  and subtract the remaining dividend by the resultant.

We get  7

Since, after getting 7 it is not possible further division,

Hence, Remainder = 7,

Quotient = sum of all expression by that we multiply (d-2) = d^3 - 3d^2-5

The back of Monique's property is a creek. Monique would like to enclose a rectangular area, using the creek as one side and fen
kondor19780726 [428]
So long as the perimeters are the same, rectangles and squares share the same area. For example, a square that is 2m by 2m across is 4m squared. A rectangle of 4m by 1m across is still 4m squared.

Therefore all we want to do here is see how big we can make our “square” perimeter using the creek. We have three sides to spread 580ft across, therefore if we divide this by 3, we get 193.3ft of fencing per side. If we then square this figure, we will then get the maximum possible area, which comes to 37,377ft squared. (That’s a huge garden).

Verdich [7]

Answer:

\boxed{43.48 \, \%}

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for calculating percentage is

\text{Percentage} = \dfrac{\text{Part }}{\text{Whole}} \times 100 \, \%

The "part" is the number of single-shot espressos

The "whole" is the total number of espressos.

\begin{array}{rcl}\text{Total espressos} & = & 46\\\text{-Single-shot espressos} & = & 26\\\text{Double-shot espressos} & = & 20\\\end{array}

\text{ \% Double-shot}=\dfrac{20}{46} \times 100 \, \% =\mathbf{43.48 \, \%}\\\\\boxed{\mathbf{43.48 \, \%}} \text{ of the espressos were double-shot}
