First, you want to change your mixed number into a single fraction--you do that by multiplying 6 and 1, then adding 5 and setting it over your denominator.

1 5/6 becomes 11/6

now you just multiply your fractions straight across:
4 * 11 = 44
5 * 6 = 30

so your answer is 44/30, but you can simplify it into 22/15

but you said it was adding fractions, though it's a multiplication symbol, so in that case:

4/5 + 11/6
get your least common denominator, ill choose 30
24/30 + 55/30
79/30 is your answer

What is the solution to the equation1 over the square root of 8 = 4(m − 2)? (1 point)
kupik [55]
Rationalize the denominator, divide by 4, add 2.
\dfrac{1}{\sqrt{8}}=4(m-2)\\\\ \sqrt{\dfrac{2}{16}}=4(m-2)\\\\ \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{4\cdot 4}=m-2\\\\ m=2+\dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{16}
