Sample Response:

The article "Human Impact on the Galapagos Islands” provides more information on how to fix the overfishing problem than the video. The article states that local fishers want the government to educate new fishers. Fishers should be encouraged to try more environmentally friendly fishing practices. When fishing is not allowed, fishers should be encouraged to try a different line of work. Fishers, and the people of the islands in general, need to be made aware of the uniqueness of the Galapagos Islands so that they will be more willing to protect the islands from further damage.

Answer:

sea lions

sharks

sea birds

albatross

Explanation:

The article, "Human Impact on the Galapagos Islands" and the video "Long Line Fishing Threatens Wildlife of the Galapagos Islands", both mentioned that fishers catch animals in the water bodies that are not their main fishing targets. Some of these animals include sea lions, sharks, sea birds, and the albatross.

In the article, it was explained that overfishing was becoming a major problem  of the Galapagos Islands. Sea cucumbers and sharks were described as targets that are endangered and might soon become extinct.

In the video, sea lions, sharks, sea birds, and albatross were mentioned as targets of long line fishing which negatively affect the ecology of the Galapagos Island.

A derived trait of land plants is the presence of small openings that allow gaseous exchange between the plant and its environme
mel-nik [20]

Answer:

B. stomata.

Explanation:

Stomata are openings in the surface of the plant epidermis through which gases and water vapor pass. They are formed by two elongated cells whose shape is similar to bean grain or dumbbell depending on the species.  These cells are called guard cells, and in their midst there is a slit called the ostiole.

The stomata make the exchanges between the external and internal environment of the plant. They regulate the size of the opening, so it is possible to increase or decrease the rate of perspiration of the plant.

Stomata are usually located at the bottom of the leaf, but in aquatic plants such as the water lily they are at the top and still in vertical growing plants on both sides.
