Find an equation parallel to the line, y= -3x -1
Aleks04 [339]

Answer:

y = 3x -2

Step-by-step explanation:

If the line is parallel, that means it has the same slope. The given equation had a slope of 3, so the new line must also have a slope of 3.

You can plug the given coordinates into the slope-intercept form with a slope of 3 to find your answer.

y = m*x + b

7 = 3*3 + b

7 = 9 + b

-2 = b

y = 3x -2

I Hope This Helps :D

Explain why 1/6 is greater than 1/8 but less than 1/3
valentina_108 [34]
You can read fractions as one number divided by another. So 1/6 is equivalent to 1 divided by 6. It is then selfevident that the larger the denominator the smaller the number. If you have one cake and divide it between 3, 6 or eight people, three people will get a larger slice than 6 people sharing the same cake. And 6 people will get a larger slice than 8 people dividing the same cake.

Finding the surface area
mars1129 [50]
So hmm notice the picture below

the triangular prism, is really just 3 rectangles and 2 triangles, stacked up to each other at the edges

now, just get the area of the triangles and the rectangles, and add them up, and that's the surface area of the triangular prism

now, what's the length "x"?  well  \bf x^2=5^2+7^2\implies x=\sqrt{25+49}\implies x=\sqrt{74}
