Heres how I did it. I used my fingers for this, it's a little odd I know but it works. I put up one finger for each half. So each finger represents one half. I needed to get to 2 1/2 so I put up two finger and I said "that's one " because a half plus a half is a whole or just one. Then I put up one more finger and I said " That's one and a half". I then put up two more and then I had 2 1/5. What I did then was count how many fingers I had up. I had 5 fingers up. So then I multiplied 3 x 5 and that gave me 15. Hope I could help!
